Motorist lucky to escape after tree crashes onto N3 freeway Eastbound near the Marianhill Toll plaza

At approximately 12H42 Netcare 911 responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision on the N3 Eastbound near the Marianhill Toll plaza.
Reports from the scene indicate that tree feller's were busy cutting a large tree down when the stump fell over and slid down the hill onto the N3 freeway partially blocking the road.
Fortunately no injuries were reported, however, a light motor vehicle had been damaged by the tree stump.
Authorities closed off the last two lanes allowing the contractors to safely cut and remove the rest of the tree.

Despite his condition, the driver managed to contact KZN VIP, provide his location and request immediate assistance.
