KZN: 2 dead in horror crash on the N2 Umgababa

KwaZulu-Natal: At approximately 14H04 Thursday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a serious collision on the N2 south-bound about three kilometers past the Ultra city in Umgababa.
Upon arrival multiple ambulance services were already on scene.
Reports from the scene indicate that a fully loaded mini-bus taxi and an SUV were involved in a head on collision.
Tragically two people were declared deceased on the scene, a further nineteen patients were treated on scene for injuries ranging from mild to serious and have been transported by various services to hospital for further assessment and care.
The entire N2 south bound had to be closed off by traffic authorities and vehicles were diverted on to the R102.
The Fire and rescue services were on scene as well as the SAPS and Road Traffic Inspectorate to conduct the necessary investigations.
