High-speed chase causes four car collision outside Sedgefield
31 March 2019 | From Arrive Alive

One of two civilian vehicles involved in a high-speed chase on the N2 outside Sedgefield collided with three other vehicles, leaving a 25-year-old male in a critical condition.
ER24 paramedics arrived at 16:57 to find three light motor vehicles on the scene - one still in the road and two on the side of the freeway. The 25-year-old male driver needed to be extracted from his vehicle and Advanced Life Support interventions. His wife and two friends had suffered minor injuries and all four were taken to Mediclinic George for further treatment. Those from the other two vehicles declined transport to hospital.
Both the vehicles involved in the car chase absconded from the scene but were apparently later apprehended. The reason for the car chase is unknown, however Metro, the Municipal and Provincial Traffic Police were all on the scene for further investigation.
