Fatal road crash at Ramsgate

This afternoon Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the R61 between Ramsgate and Southbroom for reports of a collision.

When emergency services arrived they found that 3 vehicles had been involved in a collision.

Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found 3 occupants that had sustained critical injuries, 3 occupants that had sustained serious injuries and 2 occupants that had sustained minor injuries.

Paramedics stabilized the patients on scene before being transported to hospital.

Sadly on scene a further 4 occupants had sustained fatal injuries and succumbed to their injuries before emergency services arrived.

At hospital one of the critically injured patients deteriorated, and despite the efforts of the doctor's, the patient was declared dead.

The cause of the collision is not known but authorities are investigating.
