One killed in a shooting incident at the Tongaat Toll

CERT volunteers together with emergency services were dispatched and upon arrival found an adult male had been shot in the leg.
Reports from the scene indicated that the driver had stopped just after the toll booth southbound when he was confronted by suspects who attempted to hijack and rob him.
Unfortunately, he was shot in the leg. He was treated and stabilized by paramedics before being transported to the hospital for further care under the care of Advanced Life Support paramedics.
One suspect was chased by SAPS and private security and was shot.
He was declared deceased by paramedics.

Earlier this afternoon, one of our First Responders responded to a two-car collision at the corner of Blaauwberg Road and Jannsens Avenue in Table View.
Thankfully, the drivers and passenger involved sustained light injuries that did not require hospital treatment.

A Blackview tablet and a Samsung Note 10 cellphone were stolen from a blue Renault Kiger parked outside a fast food outlet in Verulam – KZN today (Tuesday, 29 September 2026).
