Injured pedestrian robbed on the R102 in Ottawa

A 23-year-old female lying on the road after being run over by a truck was robbed of her cellphone in Ottawa - KZN.

A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was on patrol in the area when he discovered the female lying on the road.

A Powerstar water tanker was located approximately 200 meters away.

It was established that the pedestrian was crossing the road when she was run over by the truck.

The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. 

While waiting for assistance, the victim was robbed of her Huawei Nova cellphone by two males.

The robbery was witnessed by a passerby who stopped to assist. He provided

Reaction Officers with a description of the thieves but they could not be located. 

The injured woman was stabilised on the scene before being transported to hospital by ambulance.
