Women Fend Off Armed Attackers: R102 Phoenix - KZN

Two (2) female pedestrians fended off two (2) armed attackers on the R102/Phoenix Highway off-ramp - KZN this afternoon (Wednesday).
A passerby contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Phoenix Operations Centre at approximately 17:07 after they noticed a female bleeding on the side of the road. On arrival, Reaction Officers established that both women were walking together when two (2) suspects approached them. They were armed with a firearm and a knife.
The victims refused to hand over their valuables and fought off their attackers. The gunman dropped his replica firearm during the incident. His accomplice stabbed one of the females on her arm and leg before they fled empty-handed. The 25-year-old was treated for her injuries by Paramedics from a private ambulance service.
The 24-year-old victim was not injured.
