Launch of multi-million rand rehabilitation project on P284 linking Ezingolweni and Port Edward under Ugu District Municipality

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Sipho Hlomuka today officially launched a multi-million rand rehabilitation project on P284 linking Ezingolweni and Port Edward under Ugu District Municipality.
The rehabilitation of this road will allow for easy movement of goods between Ezingolweni and Port Edward as there is high agricultural production in the area.
The rehabilitation of Road P284 is valued at over R190 million, with the construction period of the project set to extend over a 24-month duration.
The community of Ezingolweni will benefit from job creation and skills development, serving as a key driver for employment and training in various skills.
MEC Hlomuka then engaged the community of ward 30 and also introduced the contractor to the community in Qhinqa Sports Ground, Ezingolweni, Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality

Old East Safety Forum Community Responders dispatched GPG and gave first aid on scene after a bakkie rolled over its driver in Val-de-Grace. The driver had been towing a trailer up a hill when the bakkie rolled.
