Structural fire in Wilropark

02 January 2025 | From Arrive Alive

ECSA responded to a structural fire in Wilropark. Upon arrival, it was determined that a single-story home with a loft was engulfed in flames. The fire, which began in one room, spread to four additional rooms before being brought under control.

ECSA crews swiftly assessed the situation and secured a reliable water source while partnering with Fidelity SecureFire to initiate the first attack. FireOps joined shortly thereafter, assisting in combating the fire, followed by City of Joburg EMS (COJEMS), who ensured the complete extinguishment of the blaze.

Thankfully, the fire was contained before spreading to the living room, bedrooms, and garage, saving much of the property. Once the fire was extinguished, our crews used thermal imaging to identify and eliminate hotspots, ensuring no risk of reignition.

One firefighter was assessed and treated on the scene for minor injuries by MediResponse.

A heartfelt thank you to all the role players who contributed to the successful management of this incident:
