Hijacked municipal vehicle successfully recovered in the Chesterville area along Dennis Shepstone Road

Yesterday, a municipal vehicle was hijacked in the Cato Manor area. The incident was swiftly responded to by the Durban Metro Police Service  Drug Team, working in collaboration with Netstar and Dew Force Security.

The vehicle was successfully recovered in the Chesterville area along Dennis Shepstone Road, on a dirt road behind a local establishment. Although the vehicle had been abandoned and stripped, it was found with the keys. Unfortunately, due to interior and wiring damage, the vehicle was no longer mobile.

A case of hijacking was opened and investigations are ongoing.

We commend all teams involved for their quick and coordinated response.
