Pit Bull Attack Follows Medical Collapse in Pietermaritzburg

A 40-year-old man collapsed in Ivy Road, Pietermaritzburg, on June 15, 2025, at approximately 7 PM.
Following the collapse, he was attacked by a pit bull. KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service responded swiftly to the scene.
Paramedics provided advanced life support, stabilizing the patient before transporting him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
The patient is currently listed in critical condition. KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service urges community members to be mindful of their surroundings and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and that of others.
