Man Shot During Armed Driveway Attack in Chardale, Newlands West

A man was shot and injured during a violent attack, by armed suspects in his driveway in Chardale, Newlands West, on Monday night, 22 September 2025. 

KZNVIP Control Centre received reports of the incident and immediately dispatched all available units to the location, just after 21h10 PM. 

Upon arrival, KZNVIP Response Officers made contact with community members who reported that a VW Polo Sedan had pulled up outside the property. Three armed male suspects exited the vehicle and confronted the victim before one suspect shot him in the abdomen. The suspects then fled the scene, abandoning the victim’s vehicle.

The victim was transported privately to hospital by family members. It is currently unconfirmed whether any belongings were taken during the attack.

SAPS attended the scene and further investigations are ongoing.
