Three Dead in Catastrophic Crash on Heald Street at Daveytown

01 November 2025 | From Arrive Alive

A devastating accident tore through Heald Street this morning, reducing a sedan to shoebox-sized debris. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene, their identities withheld pending family notification.

The crash, reported around 8:00 AM, likely stemmed from high speed or a sudden loss of control, possibly worsened by morning fog.

The wreckage has paralyzed traffic, with Heald Street closed between 1st Avenue and the N12. Detours via Snake Road and Putfontein are jammed. Community mourners leave flowers and candles at the site. Drive cautiously.

May the departed rest in peace.
