A fatal crash has been reported in a southbound direction (towards Durban) near the Wilge Toll Plaza. Both the south- and northbound righthand lanes are currently obstructed, with traffic utilising a single lane in each direction to pass the scene.
Heavy rainfall is currently being experienced in the region.
“Road users should be prepared for difficult driving conditions, including poor visibility, wet road surfaces, congestion and traffic delays in the area. Drivers are requested to approach the scene of the crash with extra caution. Please reduce your traveling speed, increase your following distance, and adopt a defensive driving style to suit the prevailing conditions,” advises N3TC’s chief operating officer, Thania Dhoogra.
SAPS and emergency services are currently attending to the crash scene, which may require additional traffic control measures to be implemented during the recovery and cleanup operations. Please carefully follow all warning signs and safety instructions, and remain patient and vigilant.
