KZN VIP Emergency Response Teams attended to a home invasion incident on Stoneham Drive, Phoenix, on Wednesday morning.
Upon arrival, it was established that while the homeowner was outside in his yard attending to daily chores, an unknown vehicle stopped outside the property. Two African male suspects exited the vehicle, gained entry into the yard, and held the homeowner at gunpoint, forcing him back into the house.
The suspects fled the scene with an unknown amount of valuables, heading in the direction of the Bhambayi area.
KZN VIP Medics were on scene and assessed the homeowner. Thankfully, no physical injuries were sustained, however the victim was left traumatised following the ordeal. SAPS was notified and also attended the scene.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant and observant of suspicious behaviour. It is especially important to ensure that our elderly community members are protected and secured by reputable local service providers. During times like these, having a strong and reliable response team on standby can make all the difference .
