The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has applauded the multidisciplinary forces following the arrest of five robbery suspects in the Seshego policing area. Reports indicate that members received intelligence about suspects who had just committed a robbery at Ga-Manamela village. The suspects had already fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla and a pink Chevrolet Spark with unknown registration numbers.

On Thursday, 12 February 2026, an intelligence-driven operation was initiated comprising the Provincial Tracking Team, Provincial Investigations Unit, and Polokwane Flying Squad. The teams followed information about the suspected vehicles, which were seen travelling on Matlala Road. They were later spotted at Sengatane village.

The ever-alert multidisciplinary forces pulled over the vehicles, and the five occupants were searched. While members were conducting the search operation, the following items were found inside both vehicles: two 9mm pistols, five live rounds of ammunition, eighteen (18) cellphones, one laptop, seven pairs of designer shoes, and designer clothes.

The five suspects, aged between 25 and 30, could not provide SAPS members with the necessary documentation to be in possession of the above-mentioned items.

Preliminary investigation reveals that these suspects might have been involved in armed robberies in the Seshego, Matlala, and Phaudi policing precincts, where victims were allegedly threatened with firearms and robbed of their valuable items.

Police are appealing to anyone who has been robbed in the above-mentioned areas to come forward with the necessary documents to prove ownership of the seized items.

The five suspects are facing charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of unlicensed firearms, possession of unlicensed ammunition, and possession of suspected stolen goods. They will appear on 16 February 2026 in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court.
