On Monday at approximately 10:44, our Centurion crew responded to a residential address in Garsfontein where a man in his 60s had fallen from a stationary truck while loading branches during tree-felling activities.
Upon arrival, it was established that the patient had sustained serious spinal injuries.
Our crew immediately initiated advanced patient care and stabilised him on scene before he was transported to a nearby hospital in a critical but stable condition.
We would like to thank Emer-G-Med (Pty) Ltd for their assistance and cooperation on scene.
Safety Reminder:
When carrying out activities such as tree felling or working at heights, it is essential to always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes items such as helmets, safety harnesses, and other protective gear to reduce the risk of serious injury.
Workers should also remain mindful of potential hazards such as falling debris and unstable working surfaces. Proper safety precautions can make a significant difference in preventing serious accidents.
