16 Drunk drivers arrested at a roadblock in Hillcrest

A joint roadblock operation was conducted by members of Hillcrest SAPS on Friday, 12 June 2026, along Old Main Road near the Hillcrest Police Station.
During the operation, a total of 16 motorists were arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol (DWD). All those arrested were adult males.
The continued enforcement of road traffic laws remains a priority in ensuring the safety of all road users. Driving under the influence places lives at risk and will not be tolerated.

A white Nissan Sentra stolen by two (2) armed suspects from a residence on Ardberg Avenue in Tongaat – KZN was recovered this morning (Monday 19/10/2026).
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre received a call at approximately 03:05 from the resident requesting assistance.

A motorist required urgent medical assistance after suffering a medical emergency while travelling on the N2 southbound, shortly after the Umgeni Interchange, on Monday morning.
Despite his condition, the driver managed to contact KZN VIP, provide his location and request immediate assistance.

Road users travelling through the N1 Soutpansberg Mountain Pass in Limpopo will see speed and warning signs, rumble strips and temporary Jersey barriers at the Ingwe Lodge hairpin bend.

The relentless efforts by the Anti-Hijacking Team from Ehlanzeni District in Mpumalanga, in partnership with other law enforcement agencies, have yielded significant results, with seven suspected hijacked and stolen vehicles, including trucks, recovered within four days.
The recoveries were made between
