Body of Drowning Victim Recovered: Umdloti Beach - KZN

The body of 22-year-old Bandile Ntaka was recovered this evening (Thursday).
Ntaka drowned on Monday afternoon (15/06/2026) while swimming at Umdloti Beach in KwaZulu-Natal. Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) Search & Rescue Unit and Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) conducted an extensive search for the missing man following the incident.
At the request of the family, the RUSA Robinson R44 Helicopter was deployed for three (3) consecutive days in an effort to locate and recover his body.
A group of fishermen spotted the body near the shoreline this evening and alerted a Security Officer. The officer, together with his colleagues, entered the water and recovered the deceased.
