Update on road repairs and rehabilitation of Meiringspoort

This morning, I joined Premier Alan Winde and Minister Anton Bredell for an oversight visit to Meiringspoort.
The flood damage on the Klaarstroom side is extensive, but our road engineering teams have confirmed that clean-up operations are already underway to prepare for permanent repairs.
While the full rehabilitation will take at least two years, we are pleased that, if all goes according to plan, Meiringspoort should reopen before the end of the year.
Access will initially be strictly controlled, with one-way traffic while repair work continues.
