On Tuesday evening, at approximately 22:45, the CERT Vaal crew responded to an urgent call for assistance following a single-vehicle incident in Risiville, Meyerton.

Upon arrival, crews found the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, entrapped inside. Midvaal Fire & Rescue utilised the Jaws of Life to safely extricate the patient from the vehicle.

While extrication efforts were underway, our CERT medical personnel, together with ER24 Advanced Life Support paramedics, initiated medical treatment for the patient from outside the vehicle.

Through effective communication and cooperation between the services on scene, the patient was safely extricated and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

We would like to sincerely thank Midvaal Fire & Rescue, Midvaal Traffic, ER24 EMS (Pty) Ltd. , Sekuriteit Sonder Grense , Gauteng EMS, and Frontline of Hope Chaplaincy for their assistance, professionalism, and cooperation on scene.

SAFETY TIP:

Always remain alert while driving and adjust your speed according to the road and weather conditions. Avoid distractions and never drive when you are not in a suitable condition to do so. Staying focused behind the wheel can help reduce the risk of accidents.
