Unidentified Man Electrocuted: Canelands – KZN

An unidentified man believed to be in his 40s was discovered deceased in an embankment on Station Road in Canelands, KwaZulu-Natal, this afternoon (Wednesday, 16/09/2026).
Reaction Officers and RUSA Paramedics were dispatched to the scene at approximately 14:01 after the Operations Centre received a call for assistance.
Upon arrival, they met with a member of the public who had made the discovery. First Responders were directed to an embankment approximately 300 metres from the roadway, where the man was located.
The deceased, who was dressed in brown sweatpants and a black T-shirt, was found lying on what is believed to be a live electrical cable running from the railway line.
He showed no signs of life and was declared deceased by Paramedics.
