The vigilance of Kimberley Public Order Police members during routine stop-and-search operations, has resulted in the arrest of four suspects and the seizure of dagga valued at approximately R87 120.00, as well as ammunition.
On Sunday, 20 September 2026, at approximately 14:30, members of Kimberley Public Order Police conducted stop-and-search operations at a taxi rank in Kimberley.
During the operation, a male suspect was found in possession of two small bags containing dagga. The suspect subsequently provided information regarding the source of the drugs.
Acting on this information, the members proceeded to another taxi rank, where a vehicle with three occupants was intercepted. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of dagga.
Further investigation led the police to two separate premises in Kimberley and Galeshewe. Searches conducted at the premises resulted in the recovery of a substantial quantity of dagga, as well as ammunition.
Three males, aged between 31 and 34, and a 27-year-old female were arrested. Two of the male suspects and the female suspect are believed to be foreign nationals.
The suspects are facing charges of possession of drugs and possession of unlicensed ammunition.
Dagga with an estimated street value of R87 120-00 was seized, together with a Ford Figo believed to have been used in the commission of a crime.
The suspects are expected to appear before the relevant court soon.
