Suspect vehicle and stolen vehicle recovered in the KwaMashu area

Suspicious activity involving a maroon and grey Mitsubishi Colt was reported in the Parkgate area on Monday morning following an attempted theft of a motor vehicle on Mungal Road.
KZN VIP members were immediately alerted and circulated the vehicle’s details across all operational networks and communication channels.
The Mitsubishi Colt was later spotted in the Lenham area, where the suspects allegedly stole an Isuzu bakkie from Brenlen. The suspects managed to evade arrest and fled with the stolen vehicle.
Information subsequently led KZN VIP members and tracking agents into the KwaMashu area. As the teams closed in, the suspects abandoned both vehicles and fled on foot through a nearby informal settlement to evade arrest.
The following vehicles were successfully recovered:
• The maroon and grey Mitsubishi Colt allegedly used in the commission of the offences
• The Isuzu bakkie stolen from Brenlen in the Lenham area of Phoenix

MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Ms Nakedi Kekana, has expressed condolences following a fatal multi-vehicle crash last night on the N1 at Ysterberg, outside Mokopane.

On Sunday evening at approximately 20:40, the CERT Centurion crews responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a light motor vehicle and a minibus on the R55 near Stone Ridge in Centurion.
Upon arrival, crews found three patients who had sustained minor to moderate injuries in the collision.
