Three critical after vehicle collides with bridge - N2 Tinley Manor

Earlier this evening IPSS Medical Rescue and IPSS Search and Rescue received reports of a motor vehicle accident on the N2 near Tinley Manor.

On arrival of first responders it was established that a light motor vehicle had collided with the bridge railing.

The driver of the vehicle was found to be severely entrapped in the wreckage whilst one of the passengers had been ejected and was found at the bottom of the bridge. A third person was also found to have sustained critical injuries. 

The driver of the vehicle was extricated by Kwadukuza Fire Department and then stabilised on scene by an IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedic before being transported to hospital for further care.

A rope system was set up by IPSS Search and Rescue volunteers and in conjunction with Kwadukuza Fire Department the ejected passenger was brought up to safety and transported to hospital by another private ambulance service.

The third occupant of the vehicle was stabilised on scene by an IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedic before being transported to an appropriate facility for further care.
