Serious injuries were reported following a three vehicle collision along Inanda Road, between the Newlands West and Parlock areas, on Monday evening.
KZN VIP Medical and Rescue, together with multiple emergency service providers, responded to the scene and found three extensively damaged vehicles. Two drivers, from separate vehicles, were severely entrapped in the wreckage.
KZN VIP personnel and the Fire Department worked carefully to extricate the trapped patients. Both patients were stabilised at the scene before being transported to appropriate medical facilities for further treatment.
The circumstances leading up to the collision remain unknown and will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
The roadway was obstructed for some time while emergency personnel operated at the scene. Metro Police and SAPS were also in attendance.
