One person has died following a serious two vehicle crash on the M41, travelling from Umhlanga Rocks towards Phoenix.

Preliminary reports indicate that a taxi collided with the rear of a heavy motor vehicle, leaving the taxi driver entrapped in the wreckage.

KZN VIP Emergency Medical teams assessed the driver, who sadly showed no signs of life and was declared deceased on scene, occupants from the DSW Truck sustained injuries but management refused for them to be assessed and transported them in their private vehicle to hospital 

The Fire Department has since arrived and extricated the deceased driver from the vehicle.

The circumstances leading up to the collision remain unconfirmed at this time.

We thank the Fire Department and all responding emergency services for their assistance. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the deceased’s family and loved ones.
