High-density law enforcement operation conducted at Sontonga Road, Katlehong

Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni led yet another successful multidisciplinary High-Density #OperationShanela at Sontonga Road, Katlehong where at a roadblock 16 suspects arrested for drunken driving, nine illegal immigrants, ten for possession of drugs, four suspects arrested for selling illicit cigarettes. During a roadblock, a suspect was also arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms. Police found two rifles and a pistol in his possession.

The Gauteng detectives arrested 699 suspects overnight 134 suspects for crimes against women and children. One Toyota Quantum with the engine tampered was impounded. Furthermore, police closed six liquor outlets for not complying with the Liquor Act. 

This operation demonstrates the SAPS' commitment to addressing criminal activity, ensuring public safety, and enforcing compliance with regulations in our communities.
