Severe Head-On Collision on M41 Leaves Driver Critically Injured During Early Hours Of Sunday Morning

A serious head on collision occurred just after midnight on the M41 near the Cornubia Mall onramp, in the direction of Gateway, leaving one driver critically injured and severely entrapped in his vehicle

According to reports, a bakkie was travelling counterflow against oncoming traffic when it collided head-on with another vehicle. Eyewitnesses immediately alerted KZNVIP Emergency Medical Services, who promptly responded to the scene.

On arrival, paramedics began assessing the injured and worked to extricate the entrapped driver. The fire department was also called in to assist, particularly with the vehicle rescue and a significant oil spillage caused by the impact.

After a complex extraction process, the critically injured driver was freed and stabilized before being transported by KZNVIP Ambulance to a nearby medical facility. Traffic in the area was heavily affected due to lane closures and the ongoing emergency operations.

All relevant emergency services, including fire and rescue, and medical teams, were on scene to manage the situation.
